At sixteen I entered the architecture programme at Da-An Vocational High School. From drafting and surveying to operating excavators, carpentry and waterproofing, I learned what “building” really means on the construction site.

I went on to earn dual bachelor's degrees in architecture and construction engineering at NTUST, a master's in construction management at NTU, a master's degree at the University of Cambridge and a PhD in architecture at NTUST, followed by post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge. Today I am a professional manager in the construction industry, and I turn my experience into books and bring it into the classroom.
